Appointments

Most psychotherapy sessions are scheduled for 60 or 90 minutes. Telephone consultations or secure, confidential video teleconferencing are available also. Psychological testing typically requires 1-1/2 to 4 hours. My hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (last appointment is at 7:00 p.m.), on Thursdays and Fridays. I make every effort to find an appointment time that is convenient for you. I request that you make every effort to keep scheduled appointments. My fee is $220 (plus GST) for an hour session.  

 

Cancellation

If you find it necessary to cancel a scheduled appointment, twenty-four (24) hour advance notice is required to avoid charges. 

 

Payment

Payment is required at each visit.  Dr. Davidson does accept all forms of payment and will give you an invoice that you can submit for reimbursement from your insurance carrier or for any other reason. Dr. Davidson's fee can be if there is an economic hardship.

 

Insurance

Your secondary medical insurance may cover all or part of psychological help. I am no longer contracted as a provider on panels of insurance carriers. The following questions can be a helpful guide when talking to your insurance or managed care company:

• Am I covered for outpatient psychotherapy? If so, what is my deductible?

• What is the amount my insurance will pay per session for out of network?

• What is the maximum my insurance will pay per year?

• For some insurance policies, payment is a percentage of the fee. If this is your policy, what is the percentage paid?

• Are there a maximum number of hours per visit?

• Are there a maximum number of visits allowed per week? Are there a maximum number of visits per year?

• Is there a major medical backup? How much?

You will need to check this with either your personnel department or directly with your major medical insurance carrier.
