APPOINTMENTS

AVAILABILITY

Most psychotherapy sessions are scheduled for 30, 60 or 90 minutes. Telephone consultations are available at the regular hourly or half-hourly fee. House calls may be arranged for clients unable to attend office visits. Psychological testing typically requires 1-1/2 to 3 hours.

We request that you make every effort to keep scheduled appointments.

My hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (last appointment is at 7:00 p.m.), on weekdays. I make every effort to find an appointment time that is convenient for you.

CANCELLATION

If you find it necessary to cancel a scheduled appointment, twenty-four (24) hour advance notice is required to avoid charges. You will be charged for the session if insufficient notice is given of cancellation.

PAYMENT

Payment is required at each visit.

Since payment is required at each visit, I will provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. You may choose to pay without accessing insurance benefits, which offers you the highest level of confidentiality and choice.

INSURANCE

Your medical insurance may cover all or part of psychological help. I can help you research your coverage or you can do it yourself. I am on the panel of several major insurance carriers. Please ask me about your insurance and if I participate in that network.

The following questions can be a helpful guide when talking to your insurance or managed care company:

  1. Am I covered for outpatient psychotherapy?
  2. If so, what is my deductible?
  3. What is the amount my insurance will pay per session?
  4. What is the maximum my insurance will pay per year?
  5. For some insurance policies, payment is a percentage of the fee. If this is your policy, what is the percentage paid?
  6. Are there a maximum number of hours per visit?
  7. Are there a maximum number of visits allowed per week?
  8. Are there a maximum number of visits per year?
  9. Is there a major medical backup? How much? You will need to check this with either your personnel department or directly with your major medical insurance carrier.
